Dirt Cups in a Jar
Do you know what dirt cups are? One of my favorite childhood desserts- pudding, Oreo crumbs, and gummy worms. I decided to make a bunch of these for dessert for a St. Patty’s day celebration. I had a box of 12 jars, so decided to make them in those.
I bought JELLO chocolate fudge pudding, and made it according to directions. Then, to make it lighter, I folded in some thawed Cool Whip lite to make it more of a mousse. I put the mousse mixture in a ziplock bag and cut off the corner so I could pipe it into my jars without a mess. On the bottom of the jars I put spooned Oreo crumbs (I just stuck a bunch of Oreos in my blender and pressed “Ice crush” and it made fine dirt-like crumbs in 30 seconds). Then, I dropped a few chocolate chips in for good measure, and piped the mousse on top. Repeat that layering and finish with more crumbs. Don’t forget a gummy worm on top! I used neon sour worms, they are a secret guilty pleasure of mine.
Through Pinterest, I found these awesome printables. I used one page of the circles and cut them out to decorate the lids of the jars. The circles fit perfectly! Thank you Love The Day!
Of course I had to finish them off with a cute green ribbon. I made these the night before and kept them in the fridge until our party. Since they had time to sit, they turned out more like a trifle, with the Oreo crumbs slightly softened. You could do this easy dessert for anything! It’s so chocolatey and amazing. Mmmm.
